September 8th, 2022, before Omari Chaudhry had even played his first Osborne game, he picked up a power 5 offer to Georgetown. Nearly 18 months later and the class of ’27 star is already one year into his high school career, and his future looks bright.
Standing at around 6’2, the point guard helped lead Osborne to the playoffs despite injuries to 4 star Akai Fleming throughout the season. He averaged 12 points a game leading Osborne to the 4 seed in one of the toughest regions in Georgia which included teams like 7A semifinalists Wheeler, Walton (who have multiple D1 players), and Cherokee. Osborne almost got to the region championship loosing by two to Walton, and then almost upset Buford in the playoffs losing by 3, 52-49. He had many impressive games including a 12 point 2 rebound, 2 assist, 2 steals game vs Wheeler in which Osborne almost pulled off the upset. One of his best performances came in an OT loss to Northgate where he put up 14 points in a near upset.
After the season Omari war ranked as the 3rd best player in Georgia in the class of ’27 rankings (via Prep Hoops Georgia). For right now, Omari is competing on The AAU seen and is gaining attention from many people.
With Akai Fleming returning to health next season and gaining another year of experience, there is no no doubt that there is much more thrill to come for. Omari and Osborne are ready to compete next season for a region title, and the state title.
