Last season Camden County went on an incredible run to the 7A State semi-finals. Led by the best tight-end in the country; 5 Star UGA commit Elyiss Williams, Camden beat the likes of Mill Creek, Newton, and McEachern, on the road to the eventually lose to Walton. This upcoming season they look to return to the semi-finals and hopefully the state championship.
They start off the year vs Brunswick, last year was a thrilling contest between the two which we hope they will replicate this year.
Then they will have 3 schools from Florida come up to play at Camden, East Lake come all the way up on August 23rd. Next, West Broward make the journey up to end off the month of August on August 30th. Finally, the off playing Florida teams by playing Ribault to start September on September 6th.
They begin region playing Georgia teams again on September 13th vs Spruce Creek. After a bye week, then they play in a big time Georgia matchup by going to Valdosta to play the Wildcats on September 27th.
They begin October by playing against Richmond Hill, last season the two played out a high scoring back and forth game which Camden pulled out with a 35-33 win. The month of October doesn’t get any easier having to play Colquitt County and Lowndes to close out the month on October 11th and 25th.
They close out the year with their final game vs Tift on November 1st.
Overall, Camden has a good shot to go to the State Championship. However, it will be a journey and will take a lot to get there. Camden has the talent and coaching to do so, and Camden will be looking to be at Mercedes-Benz when it is all said and done.
