Antwann Hill jr

As the regular season is coming to a close, and playoffs are just about to begin, it is time we start to look at 5 potential candidates to take home the GHS Sports News Player of the season award (this list is in no particular order and stats are via MaxPreps)

Ousmane Kromah 2025 RB Lee County

Ousmane has been on a mission this season for the Rockers rushing for 747 yards and 9 TDs, and 296 yards and a touchdown receiving (1043 all purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns) through 7 games! He has helped lead the Rockers to an 7-0 record, where they are in prime position to win their region. He has had 4 games of over 100 yards rushing, including a 152 yards and 2 touchdowns performance over Wekiva! The 4 star recruit recently committed to the University of Georgia.

Antwann Hill Jr 2025 QB Houston County

Antwann Hill is off the the best start of his high school. Through 7 games, he has 2198 yards (314 YPG) and 30 TDs. His best performance of the season came against Tift County, in which Hill threw for 489 yards and 8 touchdowns! Hill’s Houston County is off the an 6-1 start, but Hill will have to save even more for Houston County’s final 3 games vs defending 5A champs Coffee, defending 6A champs Thomas County Central, and undefeated Lee County. Hill, a 4 star recruit, committed to Memphis before the season.

Julian Lewis 2025 QB Carrollton

Julian Lewis has been dominating Georgia High School football since his freshman year two years ago (he reclassified up a year), and this season has been no different. The 5 star QB has put up incredible numbers despite Carrollton having one of the toughest schedules in the entire country. So far, he has totaled 1843 yards (230.38 YPG) and 28 touchdowns through 8 games! He is currently 4th in the state in passing yards. Lewis and the Trojans sit at 8-0 on the season, and still have two tough battles left against East Coweta and Douglas County. Lewis has been committed to USC since the beginning of his Sophomore year.

Luke Nickel 2025 QB Milton

Luke Nickel leads the defending 7A champions Milton where he has dominated for the past two seasons. This season in particular has been special, with Nickel having 1842 yards (230.25 YPG) and 19 touchdowns through 8 games! One prime example of his amazing season game against Florida power American Heritage, in which Nickel threw for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 37-28 win. With these type of performance, Nickel has Milton sitting in prime position to win State and go back-to-back. A 4 star prospect, Nickel is committed to Miami (FL).

Jayden Barr 2025 ATH (RB/SS) Eastside

Barr is one of the best two-way players in the country, and he has shown why this season. Offensively, he has 703 yards and 18 yards on the ground, and 212 yards and a touchdown receiving (915 all purpose yards and 19 total touchdowns) in 8 games. Defensively, he has has been a lock down safety, and 32 tackles and a pick through 8 games. He has helped Eastside to a 7-1 season so far, and had a big-time performance vs undefeated North Oconee, in which he had 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns rushing, and 6 tackles on defense in a close 35-40 loss. Despite the loss, Barr and Eastside are still on one of the favorites to win the 4A State Title. Barr is a unanimous 3 star recruit, and is committed to Georgia Tech.
