As the 2025 basketball season comes to an end, it is about time some underrated 2025 names find their homes for the future. One of which players is 2025 Kennesaw Mountain guard Isiah Johnson. The 6’0 guard has been a 3-year varsity letter, dominating in two classifications in one of the best basketball states in the country.
As a small guard, Johnson uses his agility and speed to attack defenders. He holds an ability to adapt on offense and change pace, leaving defenders in the dust. He also has smooth jump shot that allows him to make shots from anywhere. Combining these two traits gives Johnson an elite shot-creating ability, which is incredibly hard to defend.
On the defensive side of the court, Johnson uses his agility and quick hands to cause chaos, averaging almost a steal per game this season.
Last season, Johnson was in one of the toughest regions in the state, if not the country! He was going toe to toe with multiple division one players on a regular basis. Even in such a difficult region, he was named an All-Region team honorable mention.
This season, Johnson and Kennesaw Mountain got reclassed from 7A (now 6A) to 5A. Johnson has used his talents to be on the lists of many “top performers” throughout the summer and early season tournaments. He was a key factor in Kennesaw Mountain’s upset win over Buford in Harrison’s Holiday Hoopsgiving. This included providing help defense on the final position in overtime forcing the Buford player to pass the ball instead of shooting, which made Buford unable to get up a final shot! Johnson says that his senior year has been up and down, but he has found himself again.
Johnson’s high school journey is not over yet as Kennesaw Mountain takes on Villa Rica in their region tournament this weekend. Johnson believes that this team has a chance to do something special in his final ride!
