Christian Ward blew up onto the recruiting scene a year ago. At the time, the receiver had just finished his sophomore season at Carrollton High School. Now, he holds over 30 offers and is a 4 star recruit.

Last season Ward totaled 768 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns for Walton who he transferred to a year ago.

Ward has offers from the likes of Alabama, UGA, South Carolina, and many more. He spoke with me about two schools, Alabama and Michigan, and much more about his recruitment.

Many reports have come out that Michigan is at the top of Ward’s board right now. He visited the school back in March where Ward said it was nice to get to know the coaches and players.

He has scheduled another visit on May 30th to get back to Michigan where Christian is excited to meet back with the coaches and develop with them better.

Alabama is another interesting target for Christian, especially since his brother Alex committed a few months ago.

“I’ve been connecting with the coaches a lot” Ward said when he went on his last Bama visit, “just building a good relationship with them so far.”

Ward also commented on the potential of playing with Alex at the next level, “of course (It is a big factor), he’s the best player in his class, so I feel like it would be great playing with him.

Ward is looking to commit before the beginning of the season in the fall.

Ward has been playing 7v7 football over the past few months with C1N, Cam Newton’s 7v7 team. “He (Cam Newton) has been teaching us a lot; we study film together.” C1N has a few more events left, including the OT7 playoffs.

Walton is preparing to play Cambridge in their spring game in under a week. Ward said, “We are young, but we are still learning, as long as we are still getting better day by day.”

Ward is looking to commit before the beginning of the season in the fall.
