Carrollton has been one of the most entertaining teams in Georgia high school football over the last few years. Most of this is due to QB Juju Lewis who reclassified up to make this his senior year. However, this team is much more than a one man team with many D1 players on the team including 5 star 2026 DB Zelus Hicks, 4 star 2026 OL Zykie Helton, and 4 star 2026 WR Ryan Mosely. This is not to say they didn’t loose star talent, one of Carrollton’s best ever pass catcher Caleb Odom graduated and will be playing for Alabama next fall. This being said, the Trojans announced their 2024 schedule.
Their first game is a big one playing last seasons 6A runner up in Woodward Academy. Last season, Carrollton lost to another 6A power to open up last season in Langston Hughes in arguably the game of the year in Georgia.
They have their home opener vs Colombia who went 9-4 last season making it to state quarterfinals.
To close out August they play host to Rome. Rome went 11-2 last season beating 6A power Langston Hughes 42-14 in playoffs and lost 19-16 to Thomas County Central (who went on to win 6A).
The next week they play Lithia Springs to open September
They then play arguably their toughest game of the season playing Gainesville to close out the 4 game home stand. Gainesville was 67th last season in MaxPreps top 100 national rankings. Gainesville went 12-1 last season and have many D1 players on their roster for this upcoming season.
They then travel to Alabama to play Parker, a premium team in the state.
They return back to the state to host Westlake in a what has been one of the most entertaining games over the last few years.
They then have their homecoming game vs Chapel Hill as the last home game of the season for the Trojans.
They end on a two game road streak beginning with East Coweta who had an incredible season last year and are ready to build on it.
They close out the year vs Douglas County on November 1st before playoffs begin the following week.
Top to bottom this is probably the hardest schedule of anybody in the state. The good news for for Carrollton is they are arguably the best team in the state! There will be many big names in big games this season for the Trojans, it is just a matter of can the hold up to the pressure this season.
