The 5A baseball class in Georgia has been very fun so far in the season, and the grind does not stop as we take a look at some of the top teams (5 of the top teams not the top 5) in the state (rankings are based of many different ranking websites).

Ola: Prep Baseball Georgia 5, Coaches Box Georgia 4, MaxPreps 5

Ola are coming off 5 straight series wins including 3 sweeps. Ola have two more non-region games April 5th vs Northgate and April 8th vs Dutchtown before returning to region play vs Eagles Landing on April 9th, 10th, and 12th.

Coffee Prep Baseball Georgia 4, Coaches Box Georgia 7, MaxPreps 2

Coffee sit at 17-5 having scored over 10 runs in 5 of their last 6 games. They will continue the last two games of their series vs Bradwell Institute in a double header on April 5th. After that, they play Crisp County on April 9th and close and then travel to Perry for a two game series on April 10th and close out the series at home on April 12th.

Greater Atlanta Christian: Prep Baseball Georgia 3, Coaches Box Georgia 3, MaxPreps 4

GAC is seating at 18-2 on the year 12-0 in region play and haven’t lost since February 26th. They will play the final game of a two game series vs Savannah Christian on April 4th. The following week the will play Cambridge in a three game series on April 9th, 10th, and 12th.

Villa Rica: Prep Baseball Georgia 2, Coaches Box Georgia 2, MaxPreps 3

Villa Rica are undefeated on the year sitting at 20-0. Since February 24th they have only scored under 10 runs twice! They have a gauntlet coming up playing at McEachern on April 4th and then playing at East Paulding on April 5th. They have a few days off before playing Lithia Springs April 9th and at Banneker April 10th. They end it all off with a doubleheader vs Woodstock on April 12th.

Cartersville: Prep Baseball Georgia 1, Coaches Box Georgia 1, MaxPreps 1

The unanimous best team in 5A is 18-3 Cartersville who are riding an 11 game winning streak after beating McIntosh 2-1. They have a huge test vs 6A power Houston County on April 4th. The following day they will play host to Cedartown on April 5th. The next week the have a region series vs Cass on April 9th, 10th, and 12th.
